If you're like us and don't eat dairy (at least around the kiddos), you've probably struggled with dairy free alternatives. The grocery store is packed with highly processed dairy free alternatives from nut milks to soy cheese. These may be dairy free, but they're not whole foods based and certainly not healthy.
When we began our dairy free adventure, I realized I would need to come up with our own alternatives to dairy products if I wanted to give my kids nourishing options. I tried tons of recipes and definitely threw away some food. Thankfully I've got some staples down now and experimenting is a little more fun.
